Booklet Design
This booklet was custom-designed for an annual bus tour led by Des Tata, which highlights culturally significant sites throughout Tauranga, New Zealand.
The goal was to create an engaging, easy-to-read guide that describes the history and importance of each location, providing tour attendees with a meaningful keepsake and reference.

To reinforce the historical narrative of the tour, I established a deliberate typeface pairing. I selected a refined serif typeface for the headings to evoke a timeless, heritage feel that honors the history of the sites.
For the body text, I utilized a clean, minimalist sans-serif font to ensure optimal readability and modern visual comfort as readers engaged with the content during the tour.
To ground the design in its local context, I drew the color palette from Tauranga’s iconic coastal geography, anchoring the layouts with deep ocean blues.
Editorial pacing was a key consideration, so I structured each section to pair descriptive historical text with a dedicated archival or architectural photograph of the corresponding landmark.
This visual anchoring allows tour attendees to easily cross-reference the booklet with the physical landscape outside the bus window.
