Logo Design
He Kura Tūroa is a weekend summit hosted in Taharoa, New Zealand, where Māori and Hawaiian communities gather to explore their shared history, traditions, and practices surrounding food preservation.

The brief called for a visual identity that seamlessly honors both cultures. To achieve this, the logo integrates two powerful motifs: the kūmara (sweet potato) leaf and a traditional tukutuku pattern.
As a staple crop across the Pacific, the kūmara represents shared agricultural roots, while the geometric tukutuku pattern serves as a universal symbol for genealogy, shared progress, and a deep connection to nature.
To ensure accessibility, I developed a bilingual variant of the logo that incorporates the English translation.
The visual identity was intentionally designed with high adaptability in mind, ensuring the mark maintains its structural integrity and cultural impact across a variety of applications, including official letterheads, custom caps, and event t-shirts.
